The teardown of the vehicle officially began on July 17th, 2004. All fluids, including the gasoline, were drained from the vehicle and the internal combustion parts were slowly removed and sold online. The engine was cherry picked out and sold to another Samurai owner. The goal was to find a good home for as many of the used parts as possible to keep them out of a landfill.
